The CreteTravel.com group has its base on the north coast of Crete. The company operates the website CreteTravel.com to provide descriptive information for those visiting Crete.
The website takes a fresh approach in providing a user-friendly design with fast-loading pages of text and photographs. Offering truly useful categories of information, it enables visitors to be better informed about selecting what to do, where to visit and where to stay in Crete.

2. The Founders
In 1992 I visited Crete’s south coast area, Sfakia. It was the end of November and the beginning of winter.
As I rode a rented motorcycle over the White Mountains (Lefka Ori) wearing ski gloves, which for some odd reason I had packed, a thin shirt and jeans, I became more and more chilled to the bone as I progressed through every village on route. Even a Greek coffee and tot of Raki could not maintain the illusion of warmth against the mountain chill, and the wind rushing by.
The next day I was warmed and thawed gradually by mild sun and more speedily, by the warmth that radiates from the very rocks that make up the island and the human warmth of many welcoming Cretans.
I immediately vowed to return in the spring of the following year.
This set a pattern and I've returned every year since.
When Lina and I decided in 1999 that we both wanted to live in Crete and get to know its secrets and delights (Roger’s bubbling ambition since his ski-gloved motorcycle ride), we conceived CreteTravel.com.
The plan has always been to create the most detailed, informative and easy-to-use destination website about anywhere in the world, but all about Crete. This having been achieved, we have added hotel reservation services and continue to expand what we offer you.
The journey continues, the adventure unfolds...
3. The Future
I join with Lina to wholeheartedly welcome the new owner of the CreteTravel.com family of websites.
We are pleased to pass the baton to a real enthusiast, an experienced and totally guest-centred expert in personally chosen holidays, in the smaller hotels, the special and delightful places to stay that are the theme of the websites.
Yiannis has taken the reigns of serving the best interests of quality independent visitors to Crete and Greece and we look forward to see him expand the choices, service and information, the ease of use of websites to guests who want to choose their holidays.
Future guests will enjoy and benefit from the websites I will be using from now on, the very same ones Lina and I created and which we will use as guests ourselves!
